Jupiter and Saturn’s Great Conjunction of 2020 will be their closest encounter since 1623. What makes the 'Great Conjunction 2020' event so rare is that the last recorded occurrence of it dates back to July 16, 1623. This was only 14 years after Galileo was reported to have made his first telescope (although reports of much older sky observation devices exist). 2020 has been a good year for the sky-gazers with meteor showers and rare celestial events lighting up the night sky. The last month has another celestial event in store for us as Jupiter and Saturn will appear to be shining as one bright star in the night sky on December 21. On this day which also happens to be the winter solstice we will see the two planets come really close, separated by just one-tenth of a degree. This can be visualized better in the graphic below.

Interestingly this phenomenon of Saturn and Jupiter aligning to appear as a bright ‘star’ is what is said to have been the Christmas star that appeared above the night skies of Bethlehem during the birth of Christ. Besides the general astrological and cosmic analysis of what this event implies with regards to people’s birth charts and zodiac signs, there have been a number of other interesting theories and claims surrounding this day. Most importantly many physicists and astrologers see this as the official starting point of the Age of Aquarius. The Age of Aquarius has been a much talked about the shift in humanity’s consciousness and the way our species and the planet functions, from the current system of capitalism and the materialistic industrial revolution to a higher state of being based on the information and greener ways of living. Astrologers have been calling an imminent shift from the previous era of Pisces to the new epoch of Aquarius over the past 100 years, but a number of renowned analysts are claiming this particular event officially marks this transition into the new age.

Indeed it does seem like we are going through a ‘Great Reset’ or ‘Great Change’. This term hasn’t been coined by any astrologer, but rather the rich elite members of the World Economic Forum themselves.

It may be of surprise to some but a lot of the world’s leading billionaires and powers that be are deeply connected with the occult and actually pay deep significance to astrological events. Maybe the WEF and other organizations push for a ‘Great Reset’ is tied to the ‘Great Conjunction’ and is their attempt to mould the beginnings of this new age to suit their agenda.

Besides this another interesting event that has netizens, analysts and astrologers alike interested in the mysterious phenomena of monoliths being discovered all across the world.

These metal monoliths being discovered across the world from the United States to Poland, just before this important cosmic event has sky-watchers wondering whether it is an indicator for extra-terrestrial contact or a marker for a wider consciousness shift such as the Age of Aquarius. As if these theories haven’t caused enough intrigue already, people have been looking back at the Mayan Calendar related doomsday prophecies of December 21 2012 and considering if an error in interpretation meant it would be December 21 2020 instead.

Pastor Paul Begley from the U.S.A among other researchers insists that the original prediction based on the Mayan Calendar ending was about 8 years off. This has been explained by the following Twitter user:

Paolo Tagaloguin on Twitter: "Following the Julian Calendar, we are technically in 2012... The number of days lost in a year due to the shift into Gregorian Calendar is 11 days... For 268 years using the Gregorian Calendar (1752-2020) times 11 days = 2,948 days. 2,948 days / 365 days (per year) = 8 years."

Regardless, it should be noted that the Mayans never really made any prophecies of the world ending, the end of their calendar was similar to other regional calendar systems (like the Hindu Calendar), the end of an epoch and the beginning of another. This however is interesting when one considers astrologers mentioning the transition to the new age of Aquarius is imminent if not overdue.

Will we be visited by extraterrestrial aliens who make contact on the 21st of December? Will there be a major political or global sociopolitical event shortly after this date? Will the world as we know it changes drastically after the winter solstice? (Some would say it already has). Or will life carry on as normal and change occur as a sequence of events incrementally rather than any sudden transformation. Only time will tell.
